YES. Workplace violence is not a listed exception for OSHA recordkeeping purposes. This incident must also be reported to OSHA within 8 hours.
Letter of Interpretation The Recordkeeping rule contains no general exception, for purposes of determining work-relationship, for cases involving acts of violence in the work environment.
