Intentional Forklift Accident

A disgruntled employee intentionally wrecks a forklift to get hurt on the job. The incident results in a fractured arm. Is it recordable?

Answer:
NO. While the incident took place at work and resulted in recordable criteria, the employee intentionally set out for harm. Self-inflicted injuries are excepted per OSHA’s 1904.5(b)(2)(vi) as shown below.
